Ask a kid what their superpower is and you’ll get some great answers. Flying. Invisibility. Talking to dogs. But look a little closer and you’ll see the real ones: the kid who organizes every game at recess, the one who turns a cardboard box into a castle, the one who has a plan for everything, the one who cheers the loudest.
That’s the idea behind the SPUNKY Crew: four friends, four very different strengths. Every child has something special inside them, and the Crew is here to help kids discover their confidence, practice kindness, celebrate creativity and find the courage to stand out. Here’s how to spot each superpower in your kid, a question to spark a conversation, and the SPUNKY piece that celebrates it.

Zay, the Leader
Confident · Respectful · Dependable · Inspiring
How the superpower shows up: Zay is the one who steps up. Leading doesn’t mean being the loudest. It means being someone others can count on, treating teammates with respect and making the group better.
Spot it in your kid: they make sure everyone gets a turn, they remember the rules of the game, and they’re the first to help the new kid find their seat.
Ask them: “When did someone count on you this week?”
Wear it: Zay’s symbol is the crown, and the All Stars Baseball Jersey wears it proudly: an all-black design with bold white accents, an “All Stars” print with a crown graphic on the front and “Spunky 01” on the back. For everyday team spirit, the All Stars Raglan Tee has bold contrasting black sleeves, front and back prints and the same “Spunky 01” on the back.

Nova, the Creative
Kind · Imaginative · Artistic · Passionate
How the superpower shows up: Nova sees possibilities everywhere and leads with a big heart. Creativity and kindness go together: both start with imagining how something (or someone) could feel better.
Spot it in your kid: the drawings on every scrap of paper, the made-up songs, the handmade card for a friend who had a bad day.
Ask them: “If you could invent anything, what would it be?”
Wear it: the Spunky Dream Big Graphic Tee is pure Nova, with a Basquiat-inspired street-art design and messages to dream big, be kind and stand out on comfortable, breathable cotton.
Jax, the Strategist
Adventurous · Strong · Focused · Problem solver
How the superpower shows up: Jax loves a challenge. When something goes wrong, Jax doesn’t give up. Jax slows down, thinks it through and tries again.
Spot it in your kid: the puzzle they won’t put down, the block tower they rebuild five times, the “I have an idea!” when a plan falls apart.
Ask them: “What’s something tricky you figured out today?”
Wear it: Jax’s symbol is the lightning bolt, so the Lightning Bolt Kids T-Shirt is a natural fit, with a dynamic lightning bolt and star graphic on soft, comfortable cotton made for everyday adventures and playdates.
Blaze, the Motivator
Energetic · Passionate · Positive · Go-getter
How the superpower shows up: Blaze brings the energy. Blaze is the friend who says “You’ve got this!” and means it, and who turns a hard day around with a joke and a high five.
Spot it in your kid: the sideline cheering, the happy dance, the way they hype up a sibling before a big test.
Ask them: “Who did you cheer on today?”
Wear it: Blaze’s symbol is the star, and the Stand Out Graphic T-Shirt says it loud: “Born to Stand Out” in vibrant, multicolored lettering on the front of a black tee, with a creative crown design on the back.

Most kids are more than one
Here’s the best part: nobody is just one crew member. A kid can lead on the soccer field, dream up stories at bedtime, solve problems in math class and cheer for their friends at lunch, all in the same day. The Crew isn’t about putting kids in a box. It’s about giving them words for the strengths they already have.
It’s okay to stand out. Being different is powerful. Confidence is your superpower.
Bring the Crew home: three easy ideas
- Superpower of the day. At breakfast, pick a crew member and look for that strength all day. At dinner, share where you spotted it.
- Crew-day outfits. Let your kid choose the tee that matches the superpower they want to practice: the crown for leading, the lightning bolt for problem-solving, the star for cheering others on.
- Name it out loud. When you notice a strength, connect it: “That was so Zay of you, making sure everybody got a turn.”
A T-shirt can’t give a kid confidence. Kids build it themselves, one brave moment at a time, with grown-ups in their corner. If your child is going through a hard stretch, their teacher, school counselor or pediatrician can be a great partner.
